Design a new visual direction for a media giant.
As an Art Director at SiriusXM, I played a pivotal role in defining the visual identity for all shows, videos, and channel tiles featured on the SiriusXM app. SiriusXM is a leading audio entertainment company known for its extensive range of radio stations, podcasts, and TV shows. With a commitment to delivering high-quality content to its subscribers, SiriusXM embarked on a rebranding effort to enhance its app and overall digital experience.
Within the SiriusXM team, my role involved collaborating with designers and creatives to develop the visual styles for various content offerings. Our objective was to carve out distinct visual identities for each show, video, and channel tile, ensuring consistency and coherence across the entire platform. From radio stations to podcasts and TV shows, every visual element was meticulously crafted to reflect SiriusXM’s brand values and resonate with its diverse audience.
A comprehensive design system and art direction for all tiles across mobile, desktop, and web platforms
Our creative strategy revolved around capturing the essence of each content category while maintaining a cohesive look and feel throughout the app. We leveraged our expertise in design and storytelling to create visually striking and engaging tiles that enticed users to explore SiriusXM’s vast library of content. Whether it was a music channel, a talk show, or a podcast series, our goal was to provide users with an intuitive and visually compelling browsing experience.
For numerous tiles, we collaborated closely with developers who utilized Figma to provide the UI framework for all aspects of the app and web platforms. This partnership allowed us to seamlessly integrate our designs into the development process, enabling us to test designs and provide proofs to our partners efficiently.
We also developed a comprehensive guide on visual stylings, detailing how tiles should function and operate across different devices. This guide outlined specifications for logo sizing, placement of labels and buttons, and other key elements to ensure consistency and usability across the platform.
There was a wide exploration process for each genre and every show listed on the platform. This involved delving into various visual treatments, color schemes, and typography choices to accurately reflect the content and appeal to the target audience. Through meticulous experimentation and iteration, we honed in on the most effective visual styles for each tile, enhancing the overall user experience and engagement with the SiriusXM platform.

The collaborative efforts of our team resulted in the successful implementation of SiriusXM’s rebranding initiative across its digital platforms. Users can now seamlessly navigate through the SiriusXM app and discover new content with ease, thanks to the visually appealing and informative show, video, and channel tiles. Our work can be observed within the app itself or on the web, where SiriusXM’s refreshed visual identity shines through.
